The Sweet Adelines are coming!!
The 2010 SAI Convention will take place right in our own
backyard October 19-23! More than 70 quartets and 43 choruses will
ring
barbershop chords and heat up the stage in five days of competitions, including the Harmony Classic and Rising Star
Contest. Additionally, educational events, the Coronet Club Show and
Harmony Bazaar await you!
Representing Region 13 in Seattle will be
Pacific Sound Chorus, plus our Regional Quartet Champions,
LiveWire.
Mojo,
the 2010 Ninth Place International Quartet, also returns to the
stage. In addition, Jet Cities Chorus
will be the mic testers for the Harmony Classic.
NEW! A
terrific educational opportunity also takes place on Friday,
October 22, from 9:00-10:30 am in the Seattle Convention Center,
when Dale Syverson and the Richtones Chorus present
"IT'S ALL ABOUT ENERGY!" Don't
miss this class on the effects of energy on vocal and
visual performance. You'll see how much energy it takes to win
an international contest...or to beef up your Division A chorus!

Here is a FANTASTIC educational opportunity for Region 13
members who plan to attend the Sweet Adelines International contests
in Seattle, October 19-23, 2010.
First, register for our
A Cappella Gone WILDER
program...it's FREE (yes, FREE!!!). Registered members then will
receive information on Performance Guidelines and have the
opportunity to self-score either the Quartet or Chorus Finals
Contest (or both!) at International. Participants will also receive
a schedule of International chorus competitor rehearsals, so you can
visit and see how top-level rehearsals are run. Learn some new
warm-ups, watch their approach to good vocal production, or catch
some new choreography ideas. Region 13 members who participate will
share what they learned at a special class at SET 2011, scheduled
for August 5-7 in Eastern Washington.
What do YOU get out of this? First,
you'll learn about the nuances of an international competition and
what it takes to be "A." And then, you will
automatically receive $10 off your
2011 SET registration. Plus,
