Welcome to the Harmony Northwest Chorus
website!
Harmony Northwest
Chorus is a 25-member women's barbershop chorus out of Mount Vernon, WA.
We are directed by Cheryl Isaacs, and our chapter was originally formed in
1979. Today, members come from Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and Snohomish counties
to sing with the chorus, which performs in the community many times throughout the year.
The style
of music we sing is four-part, a cappella harmony arranged in the
barbershop style. This uniquely American form of vocal music is absolutely
exciting to sing and harmonize to; we know you'll be hooked the minute you
ring a chord!
We are a chapter of
Sweet Adelines International, an organization
dedicated to giving women education, training, and the opportunity to further
their musical skills. There
are currently more than 600 Sweet Adelines International chapters--and 27,000
women!-- around the
world, all making beautiful music together!
Harmony Northwest
Chorus finds joy
in entertaining and singing, and also make
lasting friendships while rehearsing and performing!
Women of all ages are encouraged to attend a HNWC chorus rehearsal any Monday
evening, from 7:00 to 9:30 pm, at the Mount Vernon Community Center, 1401
Cleveland Avenue, on the corner of Cleveland and Hazel (map below). We'd love to
have you come and visit us.
